Corten Steel Planter Boxes
Corten Steel, also known as Weathering Steel, is the popular long-term solution to any backyard or lawn garden around the globe. Corten Steel fits all projects and environments.
Restaurants and other public properties with high traffic of people, are incorporating these beautiful, natural looking planters as dividers. Final rust color varies based on the location where its being installed and the weather exposure.
Corten Metal Planters
Corten steel undergoes a hot rolling method during production, which sees the steel being passed between rollers at very high temperatures. During this process, the iron waste material (known as ‘mill scale’) moves to the surface. This leads to rust run off and staining during the early stages of the weathering process.
Once the outer iron waste layer has rusted away, the material has a stable surface with minimal shedding or staining. The process can be accelerated, or the raw material can be ‘pickled’ where an acid treatment is used to remove the mill scale prior to delivery.
Assemble Rusty Corten Steel Planter Raised Garden Beds have become a popular choice for outdoor gardening and landscaping projects due to their unique, rustic aesthetic and durability. Made from weathering steel, corten steel planters develop a protective layer of rust on their surface when exposed to the elements. This rust layer not only creates an appealing patina but also acts as a protective barrier against further corrosion.
